During the season of Lent we continue with regular Sunday worship (11am at Wesley Memorial church and 5pm at the Wesley Foundation) but we also have other opportunities to observe the season leading to Easter. We hope you’ll consider joining us for some of these special Lenten worship opportunities. All are welcome.
Space for God – Begins March 5th
Wednesdays from 8-8:45am in the chapel at the Wesley Foundation. We’ll be exploring the ancient Christian practice of centering prayer. Read more here.
Ash Wednesday – March 5th
12 noon and 7:30pm at Wesley Memorial. Join us for a brief (1/2 hour) service including the Imposition of Ashes.
Palm/Passion Sunday – April 13th
11am at Wesley Memorial & 5pm at the Wesley Foundation
Maundy Thursday – April 17th at 6pm
Join us for dinner at the Wesley Foundation (6pm). We’ll talk around tables and move directly into our worship time (6:45pm) while still seated at tables in the dining room.
Good Friday – April 18th at 12 noon
We will gather at the cross on the lawn of the church for a brief outdoor worship service. (Rain site: Wesley Memorial sanctuary)
Easter Sunday – April 20th
4:30am – We will leave from the church parking lot at 4:45am to hike Humpback Rocks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the top, we will greet the sun with a Sunrise Communion service. (Rain: 6:30am at Wesley Foundation. Check the website that morning.)
9 and 11am – Join us for either worship service at Wesley Memorial and make time for breakfast in the fellowship hall between services, at 10am.
5pm – Evensong worship with Communion at the Wesley Foundation.
