Final week of Deborah’s study, “Reading the Sacred,” meets 7:30-8:30pm in the Upper Room (next to Study Camp). Before the first class, take a look at this blog piece, from which I have borrowed the title and this great quote: “The minister’s job in this era is not just to instruct in scriptural literacy but to read the whole world as a sacred text.” That’s what we will be doing together in this small group — looking at the world as a sacred text. We will have some short readings like this but no book or long assignments. The class is intended for deeper reflection and conversation about how we read the texts of our lives “sacredly.”
