Hello Everyone,
Good luck on exams, I’m sure you will all rock! Sadly this is the last weekly email of the semester, but look for more in the spring! If you’re looking for a place to study (or not) during finals, then Wesley is the place for you! Be on the lookout for a schedule of study breaks! For those who haven’t found us yet, the Foundation building is located across from Mem Gym at the corner of Emmet Street and Lewis Mountain Road, and it is open from 9am – midnight every day (except home football game days). I can’t wait to see you around! Here’s what’s going on this week!
Saturday, December 8
3:04pm – Trip to Fashion Square Mall to pick an Angel from the Angel Tree and shop for gifts! Meet at the Foundation and please bring money to help purchase Christmas gifts for a child whose family cannot afford presents this holiday season. If you would like to donate, but are unable to attend, you can give money to Robert Emerson, Matt Paysour, John Whittier, or Lauren Huff.
Sunday, December 9
9:30am – Residential Community meeting
11:00am – Worship at Wesley Memorial UMC.
12:30pm – lunch for small groups leaders
5:00pm – Informal worship: Join us in the Foundation dining room for a worship service featuring our student-led music team and a message from our campus minister Deborah. Come as you are, dressed however you like!
Monday, December 10
11am-1pm – Deborah’s walk-in office hours. If you want to meet with her at another time just email her! deborahATwesleyatuva.org
5:22pm: Juggling with Caroline Crockett followed by a Hot Tub Adventure with Aaron Stiles.
Tuesday, December 11
Deborah out for sermon preparation and study.
1:31pm: Zentangling with Sharon! Drop by any time from 1:30-3:30 to Zentangle (a fun way to relax by drawing patterns…no drawing skill needed).
Wednesday, December 12
5:06 pm: Dancing and Foot Painting with Andi Davis.
Thursday, December 13
2:43-4:45pm: Ice Skating with Lauren Huff (meet at the Foundation)
5:59pm – Free home-cooked dinner in the Foundation dining room. This is the last dinner of the semester, and there is no Forum.
Friday, December 14
4:12pm: Stories for Dinosaurs with Matt Paysour.
Saturday, December 15
7:37pm: Star Wars Saturday with Kate Thrasher and Samantha Guthrie.
Sunday, December 16
11:00am – Worship at Wesley Memorial UMC.
2:02pm: The Kingsley Musicals (watching Starkid musicals on Youtube) with Sarah Kingsley
5:01pm – Informal worship: Join us in the Foundation dining room for a worship service featuring our student-led music team and a message from our campus minister Deborah. Come as you are, dressed however you like! Last informal worship of the semester.
Monday December 17
12:17pm: Crafts with Kelly Stewart (making paper hats).
Tuesday, December 18
Happy last day of exams! Feel free to grab lunch with another Wesley person if you’re still in town.
