This Week at Wesley…

Hi everyone!

Just a reminder to set your clocks back one hour! Here’s the list of things happening at Wesley this week:

Sunday, November 7
11 am — Worship at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church
5 pm — Informal Worship at the Wesley Foundation —
in the dining room

8:30 pm — IM Soccer Playoffs — Meet at the Foundation for a ride to the park for our first playoff game! Don’t forget your student ID!

Monday, November 8
12-2ish — Lunch at the Pav —Meet in back room of Pavilion XI on the lower level of Newcomb. If you can’t make it at 12, that’s fine! Lunch will continue as long as people are there, so you can still come at 1 pm if you have class!
1 – 3 pm — Deborah’s drop-in office hours this week — email her to meet at other times (deborahATwesleyatuva.org)
3:30 pm — Wesley Running Club —meet at the clock tower by the stadium.
8 pm — Grad Group — This small group is not just for graduate students, but also for recent graduates!
8 pm — Faces of Faith (Group 1) — A small group for first-year undergrads, led by Kemper Steffe (kws3cb) and Elizabeth Mathews (ecm2wp). We are offering three different sessions so that you may find one that fits your schedule. Meets in the living room of the Foundation

Tuesday, November 9
6:45 pm — Faces of Faith (Group 2) — A small group for first-year undergrads, led by Emily Gorman (efg2bj) and Aaron Stiles (aws6z). We are offering three different sessions so that you may find one that fits your schedule. Meets in the living room of the Foundation.

7:30 pm — “REFLECTIONS ON THE MUSLIMS OF AMERICA: CONTEXT AND CONTRIBUTIONS”, led by Altaf Husain (MSW, PH.D. Member, Board of Trustees, ISNA). Clark 107 — This is an invitation to a lecture and discussion from the Muslim Student Association. I hope some of you can make it!
8:30 pm — Methodists with Muscles —Meet in the game room of the Foundation at 8:30 pm for a short devotional before working out! Make sure you bring your student ID.

Wednesday, November 10
3:30 pm — Wesley Running Club —meet at the clock tower by the stadium.

5 pm — Residential Community Meeting
5:30 – 6:30 pm — FREE Yoga Class — meets in the living room of the Foundation
6:45 pm — New Testament Bible Study — Deborah leads this study in the Upper Room. This will be the last week of this study.
8 pm — Faces of Faith (Group 3) — A small group for first-year undergrads, led by Nina Ruhter (nwr2e) and Matt Henderson (mch8tf). We are offering three different sessions so that you may find one that fits your schedule. Meets in the living room of the Foundation.

Thursday, November 11
6:00 pm — FREE Home-cooked dinner in the Wesley Foundation dining room!
7 pm — Forgiveness Forum —
Led by Deborah, this forum will be a preview of the forgiveness retreat next weekend (Your $10 to reserve your spot on the forgiveness retreat is due today!!)

Friday, November 12
11:30 am — Leftovers — Join us for leftovers from Thursday night dinner and theological discussion

6 pm — 4th year dinner with Deborah — If you’re a fourth year wondering about plans for next year (or if you have everything figured out and you just want to have dinner with some cool people), you should plan on going out to dinner with Deborah! Please let Deborah know if you’re planning on coming so that she can make arrangements.

8 pm — First Year Night — Hosted by Faces of Faith leaders, all first years are invited to this event. Get to know your fellow first years at this fellowship event. More details to come!

8 pm — Upperclass Bowling — While the first years are having their own event, everyone else is invited to go bowling! Meet at the Foundation at 8 pm to drive to the bowling alley, and bring some money.
Saturday, November 13

Upcoming Events:
11/14 — Fluvanna Women’s Correctional Center Worship Service
11/19-11/20 — Spiritual Retreat — the theme of our retreat this year is forgiveness. More details to come!
11/21 and 11/28 — Spring Break Interest Meetings following Worship — come find out more about our annual spring break mission trip. This year, we’ll be going to Charleston, NC, to volunteer with the United Methodist Relief Center.
