Here’s what’s happening at Wesley this week:
Sunday, September 12
11 am — Worship at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church
12:30 pm – 3 pm — Residential Community Retreat
5 pm — Informal Worship at the Wesley Foundation — in the dining room
Monday, September 13
12-2ish — Lunch at the Pav —Meet in back room of Pavilion XI on the lower level of Newcomb. If you can’t make it at 12, that’s fine! Lunch will continue as long as people are there, so you can still come at 1 pm if you have class!
1 – 3 pm — Deborah’s drop-in office hours this week — email her to meet at other times (deborahATwesleyatuva.org)
3:30 pm — Wesley Running Club — meet at the clock tower by the stadium.
8 pm — Grad Group — This small group is not just for graduate students, but also for recent graduates!
8 pm — Faces of Faith (Group 1) — A small group for first-year undergrads, led by Kemper Steffe (kws3cb) and Elizabeth Mathews (ecm2wp). We are offering three different sessions so that you may find one that fits your schedule. Meets in the living room of the Foundation
Tuesday, September 14
Deborah out of the office for sermon prep and study
6:30 pm — Wesley Running Club — meet at the clock tower by the stadium.
7 pm — Faces of Faith (Group 2) — A small group for first-year undergrads, led by Emily Gorman (efg2bj) and Aaron Stiles (aws6z ). We are offering three different sessions so that you may find one that fits your schedule. Meets in the living room of the Foundation.
7:30 pm — Ultimate Frisbee Intramurals — Meet at the Foundation for Wesley’s first IM game of the season. We’ll be driving over to the Park for our first game. Make sure you bring a student ID and athletic shoes. Cheerleaders are also welcome!
Wednesday, September 15
3:30 pm — Wesley Running Club — meet at the clock tower by the stadium.
5:30 – 6:30 pm — FREE Yoga Class — meets in the living room of the Foundation
6:45 – 8 pm — New Testament Bible Study — Deborah will lead this Bible study in the Upper Room (upstairs beside study camp) on Wednesday nights. There is some reading to do before the first session, and you can drop by the Foundation any time and pick up a book from the Upper Room.
8 pm — Faces of Faith (Group 3) — A small group for first-year undergrads, led by Nina Ruhter (nwr2e) and Matt Henderson (mch8tf). We are offering three different sessions so that you may find one that fits your schedule. Meets in the living room of the Foundation.
8:15 – 9:30 pm– Restless Hearts Study — A study in vocation and calling (for everyone! not just for people thinking about seminary). Deborah will lead this study in the Upper Room (upstairs beside study camp) on Wednesday nights.
Thursday, September 16
5:30 pm — United Ministries Forum — The first of a two-part series hosted by United Ministries. “God on Grounds” will address the history of religion on grounds. This forum will be held in Minor Hall
7 pm — FREE Home-cooked dinner at the Foundation
8:15 pm — Faith in Film — Join us for watching The Invention of Lying, and for a discussion led by Stephen Sholden.
Saturday, September 18
Service Retreat!! We’ll be volunteering with Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and helping them do some painting in the education building. Look for an email later in the week for more information!
