I hope you are all enjoying the weekend, and I hope you are looking forward to spending some time at Wesley this Holy Week! Here’s what’s happening this week:
Sunday, March 28 (Palm Sunday)
11 am — Worship service at Wesley Memorial
12:15ish pm — Lunch and Discussion following Worship at Wesley Memorial
6 pm — Worship at the Wesley Foundation
Tuesday, March 30
Deborah out of the office for sermon prep and study
11 am – ~1:30pm — Lunch at the Pav — Meet in the back room of Pavilion XI. You can bring your own lunch or buy it there.
6 pm — Men’s Small Group — Led by Stephen Sholden (sks6p) and meeting in the Upper Room
8 pm — Women’s Small Groups 1 & 2 — Group 1, led by Julie Kokinos (jak6t) & Lacey Williams (lsw5eg) will be meeting in the Living room. Group 2, led by Mary Lacy Grecco (mlg7nx) & Natalie Roper (nrr2bf) will be meeting in the Cottage living room.
Wednesday, March 31
2-4 pm — Deborah’s drop-in office hours. E-mail her to meet at other times (deborahATwesleyatuva.org)
5-6 pm — FREE Drop-in Yoga class in the Living Room
7pm — Women’s Small Group 3 — Sebrell Bryant (smb5kd) & Lauren Gilchrist (ltg6s) will be leading this group in the living room of the Foundation
8:30 pm — Ultimate Frisbee IMs — Meet at the Cottage at 8:30 pm to catch a ride to the park to play. Call Annie if you’re running late so that you don’t get left behind! Bring your student ID, and wear athletic clothing. No jewelry is allowed in IM games. Come play or cheer on our team! No skills required.
Thursday, April 1 (Maundy Thursday)
6 pm — FREE home-cooked dinner in the dining room
7 pm — Maundy Thursday Worship Service in the Sanctuary of Wesley Memorial
8ish pm — Wesley Disney Series: Bambi — Wesley Disney Series is finally back! This week we’ll be watching “Bambi” in the Game Room.
Friday, April 2 (Good Friday)
12 noon — Good Friday Worship Service at Wesley Memorial
Saturday, April 3
8:30 am — Wesley Running Club (WRC) — Meet at the Cottage before running to the Charlottesville City Market for a fresh breakfast. (Bring cash!) The shortest route there is 1.8 miles, but we can adjust for those who want to do more. WRC welcomes runners of all speeds! We keep a conversational pace and can take breaks to walk at any time. The trolley is also an option for those who just can’t get moving that early.
3 or 4ish pm — Pre-Sunrise Service Camping — Camp out with Jimbo Hughes and many others the night before the Easter Sunrise service on Humpback Rock. Contact Jimbo (jnh5y) if you’re interested for more information about when/where to meet and what to bring.
6:30 pm — Ben Hur — We will be watching “Ben Hur” in the Game Room. This is great for those who are in town, but haven’t gone to camp out for sunrise service!
Upcoming Events:
Sunday, April 4 (Easter Sunday)
5:10 am — Humpback Rock Hike and Sunrise Service — If you don’t want to camp out the night before, but you still want to attend the Easter sunrise service with Wesley, meet in the parking lot at 5:10 am for a ride. Wear layers and good walking/hiking shoes, and bring a water bottle and a flashlight.
8:30 and 11 am — Worship services at Wesley Memorial — Breakfast served in between services at 9:45 am
6 pm — Evensong Worship at the Wesley Foundation
