7 pm – FORUM: Speaker from PACEM – “People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry (PACEM) is an interfaith collaboration of congregations and community partners in Charlottesville.” PACEM helps the homeless find shelter at night during the winter months. The shelter rotates around the city, but is currently being hosted at Wesley Memorial UMC. The Wesley Foundation will be offering several volunteer opportunities to help with the shelter in upcoming weeks. This speaker will give us an orientation on how to best serve in a shelter setting. This orientation will also be useful for those of us planning to go on the WF Spring Break Mission Trip. More information about PACEM can be found on their website: http://pacemshelter.org/about/

To close, I wanted to offer you a piece of this week’s lectionary that I found particularly meaningful.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.– Isaiah 43:2
As always, Let me know if you have any questions. Best of luck with class this week!
Hope to see you soon!
