This Week at Wesley…

Hey Wesleyanos,

In the midst of this stressful time of year, I encourage you to keep breathing deeply and remember that God is with us, always.  Come take a break from those papers, problem sets, and projects and join us this week at Wesley.  It’s never too late to stop by!  Here’s what’s happening this week (New/Highlighted events are in bold/italics):

Sunday, November 15

11 am – Worship Service at Wesley Memorial
4:30 pm – SCC Meeting in the Living Room

6 pm – Informal Worship Service at the Wesley Foundation, followed by dinner on the town
Monday, November 16
8 pm – Grad Group – a ministry for Graduate students, contact Amy Moses (arm8h) for more info

8 pm – Faces of Faith (Group 1), a small group for first-year undergrads, led by Matt Hunt (mrh8h) and Becca Worley (rjw5x).  We are offering two different sessions so that you may find one that best fits your schedule.

Tuesday, November 17

Deborah out of the office for study
12:30 pm – Lunch at the Pav – Meet in Pavilion XI on the lower level of Newcomb for lunch and fellowship.  Buy lunch there or bring your own.
5 pm – Concessions Fundraiser: Jimmy Buffet Concert – If you are interested in joining us for spring break, we are asking that you attend 2 concessions fundraising events.  We have enough volunteers for this particular event, but if you are interested in helping out with another concessions fundraiser, please contact Helen Ross (hrr2v).

Wednesday, November 18

2-4 pm – Deborah’s drop-in office hours, Email her to meet at other times:
5-6 pm – *FINAL* Free, drop-in yoga class this semester – in the Living Room
6 pm – Faces of Faith (Group 2), a small group for first-year undergrads, led by Paul Pletcher (pdp3c) and Jenny Burks (jlb7cn).
6:30 pm – Board of Directors Meeting
8:30 pm – Methodists with Muscles, led by Annie Bailey (amb9um).  Meet in the game room, wear tennis shoes/gym attire, and bring your student ID.

Thursday, November 19

**6 pm – SPECIAL EVENT: WESLEY THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION! FREE homemade dinner in the Foundation Dining Room. Come celebrate Thanksgiving with the Wesley Family.  Everyone is welcome, as always.  The turkeys will be provided.  Feel free to bring your favorite side dish to share.  If you want to bring a dish but do not have a kitchen, you are welcome to use the kitchen facilities at the Foundation.  This is a major highlight of the school year — please join us!**

Special Announcements: Calling All Musicians! Interested in helping out with the music at our worship services?  Contact Music Man/Director, Ryan LaRock (rsl4gp).

Interested in our Spring Break trip? Miss the interest meetings? No worries! This year we’re headed to Washington, D.C. to work with an organization that will place us in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and other locations for the week.  Join us for a spiritually focused week of mission work at minimal cost to you!
