As university students who are seeking to understand and to live the Christian life, we recognize our need for the support and challenge gained from fellowship in a Christian community. The United Methodist Student Fellowship at the Wesley Foundation provides leadership in developing and implementing programs of Christian witness within our community and the university at large. All University of Virginia students are welcome to participate in the United Methodist Student Fellowship at the Wesley Foundation.
The SCC focuses its work in the areas of:
- Discipleship - Growth in the Christian life is one of the evidences of God’s grace. We want to be very intentional about helping that growth and exploration take place at the Wesley Foundation. We take into consideration how we do that through worship, study, praise, teaching, leadership development, education in the faith, spiritual growth, accountability, and interfaith exploration.
- Witness – Our witness is reaching out to the world around us in love, service, acceptance, and honest sharing of who we are and what is the hope to which we hold. In this area we seek to interpret who we are, as we also invite and work together with the ecumenical and interfaith community, as well as other organizations.
- Fellowship – More than just get-togethers, fellowship is understood in the much larger sense of providing a safe space for relationship, hospitality, encouragement, affirmation, and engagement.
